We contacted Tom over the Internet, and worked with him for more than a year before we bought our home. We had some unexpected life events that delayed the process. Tom was extremely patient with us, kind and encouraging. We visited last year and he showed us a number of homes that helped us figure out what we really wanted, so that when we visited earlier this year, we were able to narrow down the search and find the perfect home. When an inspection turned up unexpected problems, he worked with the sellers to get the problems fixed and make us comfortable, then helped us get to closing less than a month after we made the offer. He's knowledgeable, experienced and respected in the area (everyone we met told us what a good realtor he is). I highly recommend him. We made a long distant move from Cumming GA to Brunswick and a lot of the activity was conducted via the phone or E-mail. The process couldn't have been easier thanks to Tom. He guided us to a number of Home Inspection Services, AVAC, banking contacts and to local building and electrical contractors. The electrical contractor he recommended was terrific! Since we moved close to the marsh Tom helped us navigate flood insurance issues and arranged for a site elevation survey which reduced our flood insurance cost by over 50%. After months of Zillow searching we finally thought we found a house we could live in. For us it would be a move from Florida to Georgia. After listening to us reject various aspects of each house (more like us tearing them apart) he told us he thought he might have the perfect house for us. It was available to show so off we went. Tom listed my house, we had several showing and a contract within two weeks of the listing. During the short sale approval, I had several issues with Wells Fargo processing the submitted information. Tom did a great job of helping me ensure that all the documents and any issues where handled. We both constantly stayed in contact with Wells Fargo and he handled the new buyer’s request. We were from out of state and Tom took his time with us not only to find us that perfect home, but his expertise of the different areas allowed us to make an informed decision on the location where we would want to search for our perfect home. He was very patient through the process and gave his honest opinions which enabled us to make informed yet independent decisions. Tom was also insightful on things to look for that might affect resale value. He’s also very aware of the fair market price and very good in negotiations. We had a hurricane come by a short time prior to settlement. Tom kept in touch with us updating us on the strorm's path and what was happening as we were still 650 miles away. As soon as Tom was able to, he went out to check on our house to see if there had been any damage. Thankfully, our home was intact and no major damage had occurred but Tom took the time to take a few pictures and send them our way to calm our fears. We won't recommend anyone else, except for Tom to all of our friends and anyone that would be looking for a home in the area. He charged us a fair commission and did an excellent job! Two of the agents (both Associate Brokers, and associated with well-known real estate companies on St Simons Island) were convicted of FELONIES some time after our transactions. My husband and I previously purchased our home with Tom and we were so impressed with his character and knowledge that, as we began a process to buy an investment home/aging parent home, we sought Tom's expertise. We quickly found a home we loved -- and put in an offer. Tom helped us shape the purchase to allow for home inspections and really made himself available to us and we have been soo grateful!! ESPECIALLY SINCE it turned out that the property had flaws that equaled half of it's selling price and had Tom not helped us get professional assessment of the home quickly, we would have bought a home with more foundation surprises than we would've been braced to navigate.
