Despite graduating with an accounting degree and seven years as an HR manager with World Union, one of the largest real estate development companies (over 20K employees) in Mainland China, Tonya had to restart her professional life here when she moved to Austin in 2012. She began as an assistant at Select Austin & SeaPointe VC, a local firm which was not only a real estate agency but also an investment firm with over one hundred flips under their belt. Seeing the growth of Austin first hand from both the agent and investor perspective proved an incredible foundation on her road to become a top agent for first time home buyers.

In 2017, Tonya and her husband started TMW Capital to build a diversified portfolio of investments which now includes more than thirty single family homes in the greater Austin area. Alongside building their portfolio she continued working with first-time buyers and investors to capitalize on the real estate boom. Not many local agents get to see the number and range of deals she has worked on directly at brokerages both large and small. Tonya is honest to a fault and always puts the client’s interest as her top priority leveraging her knowledge and experience to make transactions smooth. For anyone coming to Austin, particularly Chinese & Chinese-Americans, Tonya brings her bi-lingual and multicultural expertise to bear taking the stress out of these massive financial decisions. Leaning on Tonya, clients have bought investment homes sight unseen from abroad and even listed, sold and packed entire estates despite never meeting in person.

In 2021, Tonya was named Platinum Top 50 in Austin and moved her practice over to Kuper Sotheby’s to gain the strength of the top global network and luxury home expertise that her clients demanded.
Outside of the office, Tonya is passionate and very active in the Austin Chinese-American community. You might see her on stage MCing an event, performing a traditional dance or singing with a local choir at a nursing home. During the pandemic, she even co-founded ATX Hospital Meals and delivered over 7500 meals to healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic supporting 44 local restaurants. She is a foodie, loves cooking for her family and friends, and can be found walking Willow, her rescue pup, at one of the outdoor trails in Austin, the city she now calls home.
