Vennise Johnson

Vennise Johnson has been an entrepreneur before she knew what entrepreneurship was. She learned to sew when she was 9 years old. She made prom dresses and gloves in high school to pay for her senior activities. She graduated from college and continued her passion for fashion. After working for some of the best retail stores in Chicago, she was promoted to open the first Nordstrom's in the Metro Atlanta area.

Once she became a mother, Vennise knew she would not go back to the work force the same way. She began teaching children to sew in her home. It led to starting a small fashion school for children. Sew Creative Preparatory allowed her to raise her children and run a business.

Having undergone life changing events, she went from homeowner to tenant again. This experience revealed how few rights tenants have and infuriated her. Ultimately, it made her want to help others become homeowners.
