W. Peter Doren

Mr. Doren has been a practicing attorney in the Traverse City area since 1977. He moved here from Lansing where he was an in-house attorney for Ingham County and before that was Law Clerk to the Honorable Timothy Quinn, Michigan Court of Appeals. Mr. Doren has handled numerous real estate transactions and litigation including construction disputes. He regularly represents parties in zoning litigation and administrative hearings. He is an estate planner and handles probate and trust administration.

Mr. Doren is the Village Attorney for Kalkaska. He is general counsel for the Traverse City Light and Power Department and has been since its creation in 1979. He represents the Charter Township of Garfield. For thirty years, he was the City Attorney for Traverse City. He was also instrumental in the creation of the Traverse City Downtown Development Authority, Traverse Area District Library, Historic Districts Commission and many other organizations performing governmental functions. He has represented the Grand Traverse County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority.
