About Wendell
Wendell’s career path began in the U.S. Army where he received “The Army Commendation Medal”. While in the reserves, he went to the University of Florida. For the next 15 years, Wendell worked as a teacher and coach in schools and colleges in the South East, earning “Coach of the Year” three times. Seeking a change, he returned home to Fleming Island and began a career in real estate. In 1987 Wendell Davis began succeeding in property management for one of the largest real estate corporations, growing their division from 10 to 35 offices and improving the average rental rate by over $400. He also served as the President of both the NE Florida Realtors Association and the Florida Realtors Association. Wendell has remained up to date with continuing education, earning the professional designations of Graduate of Real Estate Institute, Certification of Residential Broker, Certification of Residential Property Manager, and Certification of Master Property Manager.
Wendell has also proven himself to be a valuable member of the Clay County community. In 2008 and 2012 he was elected as a Clay County Commissioner and selected by his peers to serve as Chairman. He has built lasting connections by serving on many boards and committees such as North Florida United Methodist Church, Fleming Island Rotary, Clay County Transportation, Clay County Transit, Clay County YMCA, North FL March of Dimes, Clay Utility Authority, and as President of the Clay County Chamber of Commerce. He was even appointed by the Governor to serve as a trustee for St. Johns River State College! As a proud Gator, his family founded “The Wendell and Jackie Davis Scholarship to the College of Health & Human Performance” at the University of Florida.
The achievements and contributions made by Wendell have not gone unnoticed. In 2015 he was presented with the “12 Point Community Service Award” by the North Florida Boy Scouts and was then elected to the 2019 Realtors RPAC Hall of Fame. Having reached the heights of professional success he retired and spent time with his wife Jackie, 3 children, and 4 grandchildren. However after a year of rest, reassessment, and a trip to Alaska, he made the decision to open PMI Davis Realty.
