Whitney is deeply connected to Coronado. Before completing his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Sarah Lawrence College (New York) and Pepperdine University (Malibu), respectively, he graduated from Coronado High School. He was raised in Coronado where he has lived and worked since he came back home to raise his family.

As a former Coronado City Councilmember and Mayor Pro Tem, he is well-versed on municipal land use and housing policies that help inform his practice. Prior to building his real estate business he was a marketing and public relations executive for a leading San Diego-based public affairs company. As a rental housing expert, Whitney advises and advocates for an influential statewide rental housing trade association where he is often called upon by local media to share his opinions on the housing market.
