Through pushing further than Will thought possible, he shattered every preconceived notion he had about himself. While competing in a 60-hour long endurance race, Will learned an invaluable lesson.

As he bent over to catch his breath, Will was not sure if he could keep going. It was hour 24 of the 60-hour Agoge endurance event, one of the most difficult races in the world. At that point, he had been pushed further than he ever imagined. However, Will decided to do this event not just for him, but also for his daughter, Sierra. he put on his pack and kept going.

In 2015, Will started running Spartan Races at the same time he began taking a closer look at himself. While to the outside world he appeared successful with seven years of service in the US Navy Submarine Fleet and a thriving real estate career, there was more going on below the surface.

Will’s family has battled with mental illness for generations. It has taken his mother, uncle, and many others he cared about from him. When Sierra was born, he decided to make radical changes. Will began taking better care of himself in every way through exercise, diet and improving his mania.

Will has always been a creative person and inspired to act. When he was 13 years old, he built his first business, and years later he created his real estate business all on his own through the recession. Will learned to weaponize his mania and use it to reach his goals, but he also knew there was a risk to crash and burn. So, he decided it was time to better himself.

Training for the Agoge is an intense year of dedicated work. Will spent 20 hours a week training through trail running with weight plates in my pack, Olympic weight training and a healthy diet. He committed and forged his spirit through the 60 hours on that mountain. During the most challenging moments, he was pushed to keep going by his desire to show Sierra what was achievable in life with a positive mindset, healthy habits, and goal setting, even when most of the world thinks you are crazy for trying.

Will loves endurance sports and have continued running Spartan Races, including the first one ever in Greece in 2017. Nothing has come easily to him in life. Right before the pandemic, he became a full-time father when Sierra lost her mother. Will learned a lot while keeping his company alive in uncertain times and taking care of a nine-year-old all on his own. Will is proud of his daughter and the relationship they have. She knows who he is, and he continues striving to be an inspiration for her to go after her dreams by going after mine.

We will always face challenges in our lives, times when we feel our backs are up against a wall. To get our feet back under us and hit our stride, grit makes the difference. Will has always been determined and tenacious, but grit is something else entirely. Through moving forward and taking aggressive steps toward goals in the face of great difficulty, we can challenge the very idea of what we thought was possible.

Will has been a licensed REALTOR® since 2006. Whenever he is not working, he enjoys wakeboarding, paddleboarding and trail running. Wills favorite part of being a REALTOR® is helping his clients climb the ladder of financial stability through real estate.
