About William
William J. Sitar is CEO, Founder and Broker of Record of Sitar Realty Company, a full-service commercial real estate firm based in New Jersey that provides senior-level advisory and brokerage services in the areas of office, industrial, retail and land development transactions. Mr. Sitar established the Company in its present form in 1978 on the fundamentals of integrity, professionalism and personalized services.
In 2011, Sitar Company was selected to become the New Jersey representative for TCN, a worldwide network of independently owned real estate firms. From 1992 to 2011, Sitar Realty Company was a member of ONCOR International, a global commercial real estate network.
Besides managing Sitar Realty Company and its affiliates, in his role as CEO, Mr. Sitar handles strategic planning, tenant representation, lease negotiation, acquisition and development. With over 60 years of real estate experience as a property owner, developer and manager for both small and large corporations, Mr. Sitar understands the increasing importance of real estate decisions and its role in a company’s overall corporate strategy.
Mr. Sitar has successfully concluded many millions of square feet of commercial real estate transactions for clients including AT&T, CIT Group, Hertz, Hewlett-Packard, Horizon BCBS, Home Depot, Johnson & Johnson, Lucent, Travelers, and Marriott to name a few. Additionally, Mr. Sitar has been extremely active in owning and developing shopping centers.
William Sitar is a licensed broker in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Mr. Sitar is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the New Jersey Association of Realtors, and the South Monmouth Board of Realtors. In 1986, Bill became a member of the Society of Office and Industrial Realtors as an Industrial Specialist, and two years later he achieved the title of Office Specialist within SIOR. He is one of two dual members of SIOR in New Jersey. He was also selected as a member of the influential Counselors of Real Estate (CRE) in 1992. With millions of real estate practitioners worldwide, only a distinguished few can call themselves Counselors of Real Estate. Membership demonstrates peer recognition for Ethics, Experience, Expertise, Influence and Prominence in real estate and real estate-related counseling and advisory services. In 1999, he was named a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award. Mr. Sitar was selected to become a Fellow with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, the most prestigious real estate organization in the world. In 2011, he was designated a Chartered Commercial Property Surveyor by the RICS. Normal educational requirements to become a Real Estate Chartered Surveyor include 3600 hours for a bachelor’s degree and 1200 hours for postgraduate master’s degree.
Most recently, Mr. Sitar was on the Advisory Board of Columbia Bank. Mr. Sitar served as a member of the Advisory Board of the China – U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He also served on the Board of Trustees for Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft and was a member of the Boston College Real Estate Council, Middlesex County College, and Raritan Health Services. He was formerly on the Board of Carteret Bank and Trust Co. and Peoples Bancorp and was a Founder of the 200 Club of Middlesex County where he served as its Vice President for 43 years.
