You can also find some larger two-story Colonial-style houses here. The streets are lined with sidewalks, and yards tend to have grass, dirt, and rocks.

For the outdoors, Dafoste Park is a popular spot — it has multiple sports facilities and a playground for children. And don't overlook Pletz County Park. This gem, nestled right in the middle of a residential area, has playgrounds, a softball field and a tennis court. The Salado Creek Greenway winds its way through the neighborhood and can be accessed from nearby trailheads. This 7-mile multiuse trail is popular for walking, jogging and running, and it's part of the larger Howard W. Peak Greenway Trails System, the main trailheads for which are at Pletz County Park, Belgium Lane and East Houston Street.

Golf lovers can take advantage of the Willow Springs Golf Course. This course has hosted Texas Opens and is popular for its open fairways and large greens. With the AT&T Center and Freeman Coliseum right in the neighborhood, you'll be just minutes away from San Antonio Spurs games, concerts, rodeos and other events.
Hop on the road
With Interstate 10 running alongside it and Interstates 35 and 410 nearby, Coliseum Willow Park is a convenient home base for traveling. "The further out you are from downtown," Strick says, "The more you'll have to drive." The neighborhood also has bus stops along Martin Luther King Drive and East Commerce Street, providing residents with multiple ways to get around the city. For trips out of town or to pick up visitors, the San Antonio International Airport is about 15 miles away.
