Midcentury homes at prices more affordable than downtown Savannah

Highland Park is a classic midcentury suburb, with cottages, split-levels and ranch-style homes on tree-lined streets. “It’s much more affordable than areas closer to downtown,” says Savannah-based Realtor Jacqueline Mason with Keller Williams Realty Coastal Area Partners. “Plus, not everyone wants to have a wall in common with their neighbor or a home that requires a lot of maintenance.” Here are some housing-related figures about Highland Park:

• Single-family homes can range from the mid $200,000’s to the mid $300,000’s
• Condos can cost from the upper $100,000’s to the lower $200,000’s
• Home values are about $200,000 lower than the metro area’s average
• Over half of residents rent
