Abita Springs Middle School
Abita Middle School, the home of the Warriors, is located in the heart of Abita Springs’ historic district. It’s immediately adjacent to the Trailhead plaza and the town’s park and playground, giving it an idyllic, small-town setting. The historic building exudes nostalgia as it was constructed in 1923 and previously served as a grammar school and junior high to many generations.
The school currently serves 378 students enrolled in grades 4-6 with a student-teacher ratio of 16 to 1. According to test scores, its students are above the state average for proficiency in both math and reading. For grades 7-12, students will attend Fontainebleau Junior High and Fontainebleau High School in Mandeville.
Clubs and extracurricular activities include band, strings, choir and chess club. It also offers aftercare services. Though it’s a public school, Abita Springs Middle School students are required to wear uniforms consisting of navy or white shirts and khaki pants, skirts or shorts.

This is a wonderful school. The new principal is terrific and truly cares about the students.

My child had a terrible experience at this school from 4-6 grade. There is some amazing staff members. Several staff members including the principal are very incompetent, unprofessional and should not be employed working with children in the education profession.

This is a wonderful school. The teachers and administrators do a wonderful job with the students. They are caring and loving yet prepare the kids for the junior high. Love the small school atmosphere and would recommend this school to anyone.
