Students struggling with attendance, staying on track, and with unique learning styles can attend Akron Alternative Academy to earn their high school diploma outside of the traditional high school setting. The mission at AAA, located in Downtown Akron, is to provide a supportive, caring environment that assists students in overcoming barriers, earning a diploma, and preparing them for life after school. Just over 180 students in grades eleventh and twelfth attend Akron Alternative Academy. The Alternative Academy provides unique methods and techniques to promote academic success, including small-group direct instruction, individual tutoring, independent study, and computer-assisted instruction. Staff at AAA pride themselves in focused and collaborative instruction that works to build relationships, meet students where they are academically, and empower them toward reaching their goals. Greenleaf Family Services provides on-site support for pregnant and parenting students, students with mental health needs, and those who are working to maintain a drug-free lifestyle. Administrators at Akron Alternative Academy believe that no two students are alike, and neither are the ways they experience high school. Students at AAA have access to a variety of programs and supports that drive student interest and success.

its an online school so they do not have sports or clubs. but they do have like extra help you ca have after school if you need it.
