GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Alamosa is a very tight knit town so everyone knows everyone which is a good and sometimes bad thing. I think our administration does the best they can with the resources they have to give every student a fair opportunity to succeed. I enjoy the school functions like school games and dances. We also got a tutoring center so struggling students can receive extra help from peers that have gone through the same classes. This has improved many people's education.

Alamosa is a small rural town in Colorado and Alamosa High School is small with limited opportunities. There are not many high level classes offered at the high school and many students, including myself, end up taking college courses by junior year. Extracurricular opportunities are also lacking. The variety of sports is slim and the focus on arts and music is even slimmer.

Alamosa has met my needs and is dedicated to continue meeting them. The staff and teachers are so dedicated to providing the best they possibly can for ea...
