The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Great school that is very welcoming. The new admin is doing a great job!!! Coaching staff is top notch. Would like to see more resources for students, overall a great school and staff that work hard for students.

Overall I think that Albemarle High School is a good school I just think that the only main problem is that some students don't care about their school work, grades and they kind of ruin it for everyone else. But for the most part there is a bigger percent of the students that do care and that do try. Another problem that we have is that we don't have enough resources or enough administration meaning we don't have many academic/elective classes to choose from.

Albemarle High School prepared me for college & adulthood, the teachers and staff always went above & beyond to ensure I had what I needed to be successful. I was accepted to multiple top colleges thanks to the support & guidance I had while being a student.

I taught there a few years. It was a horrible experience. Fights regularly broke out in the halls. Drugs were a problem along with an astounding teen pregnancy rate. The academic standards were incredibly low but the football scores were high.
