The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experience at Benjamin Russell High School was unique. In the beginning I played two sports: volleyball and soccer. I was also an honors student. I enjoyed the interactions these classes allowed me to have with other students as well as with the faculty members to my school. I also participated in SGA as a representative. As I advanced to the eleventh grade I was given the opportunity to get a head start on my college classes by dual enrolling at Central Alabama Community College. As these new much harder classes began I started to focusing more of my time on studying. I then decided that soccer was my favorite of the two sports so I began playing travel soccer also. I would love to see my school get more help with the athletic programs. Coaches that cherish time spent training and molding the students to be better all around people. My overall experience at BRHS was a great experience. As my principal would say "Its a great day to be a wildcat."

I just graduated from Benjamin Russell May 26 2023. I had some bad and good experience there but my good out weigh my bad experience. What I loved about Benjamin Russell they really cared about the students and staff as a whole didn't matter who you were we all got treated the same. Mr. Benfield made Benjamin Russell a family way from home he taught us the true meaning of being as a family. The story only bad things happen there was when students picked on the lest fortunate students and I didn't like that at all.

BRHS was a great high school. The teacher that I had were very passionate about their jobs and cared about their students and their lives after high school. The academics and their point of view on being college and career ready was excellent. I truly felt prepared for college upon graduation.
