The high school way pretty good overall. I only started coming here my sophomore year so I can't speak on it too much. Its a very tight knit town and school, everyone pretty much already knew each other but they were all friendly from the get go and I never had any problems with other students. The classes were pretty easy compared to my last school, but it wasn't a crazy difference.

There were no windows throughout the school besides in the Foyer/Cafeteria. The Faculty treated all students like they were children.

As a student at Alpine High, I saw many of our resources dis-proportionally allocated. Our Academic UIL teams are stellar and with proper materials would make it to state yearly. In my time at leas 70% of our competitors make it to regional competition. Our sports never go past bi-district. Yet, the budget for sports is much larger and the focus much greater than academics.

Only 3 AP classes offered. The new counselor didn't even know how to submit transcripts to colleges and didn't care to find out, because they assume everyone will go to Sul Ross. Sports and Band are the main focus of the school.

Top-notch school! It's very true that it's small enough that kids don't get lost in the shuffle, but it's also true that it stands apart for its very caring faculty who really try to bring the best out in every child.
