Moving to a new school is tough, but my junior year at Altus High School was a journey of exclusion, discovery, and perseverance. Initially feeling out of place in a predominately white environment, I struggled but eventually found my way in AP Calculus, but I overcame it, ending Algebra 3 with a B. These experiences shaped me into a stronger person, teaching me resilience and confidence as I moved forward in my high school journey.

The counselors don't help with anything at all, some of the teachers don't even teach at all. But there is lots of sports and activities.

Our experience was not good. The communication about events, tests and any issues is essentially non existent. We did not feel welcome as a family and our child certainly did not feel welcomed by the other students.

Most teachers are okay, but not many that really standout and only a few that shouldn't be teaching....

This school does not prepare kids for college at all. A majority of the teachers here do not want to be there, granted there were some good ones that actually tried to push me academically. I was a Air Force transplant from Texas, the administration initially wanted to put me back a grade (I believe...
