A lot of resources and opportunities available, I am very lucky to go there. Many great, supportive teachers and a very proactive extracurricular community. Clubs do lack participate sometimes, but it is a great environment.

It has been good so far, better than middle school but it definitely could use improvements. I think we have some good teachers while others are questionable as well as the student environment. We have had many fights and police called as well as me getting called racist names normally but white people can't hold their mouth so I don't know what to expect honestly.

I had a great time at Ames High School. I have had a great time and made very many great friends. I believe that Ames is somewhere you go if you would like to feel safe and cared for while apart of it.

Awesome teachers but miserable administration at all levels. So worried about political correctness that they will not back their teachers, and will not AT ALL focus on an effective learning environment for those who simply want to learn. The Ames school system as a whole needs a complete review of...

Ames is a great school with many opportunities to students in many fields of study! They are ranked very high in test scores, but also value clubs and arts as well.

Didn't realize how great of an education I had received from Ames High until I got to college. AHS really prepared me to succeed at the next level. Also, many great opportunities with academic clubs, sports, arts, music and other misc. clubs. Thrilled with my experience at AHS.
