GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The best part of high school was the friends and connections I've made. I would change the way the school schedules their classes so more time is spent in each class to learn. I'd also increase the budget towards improving the arts department and digital media funding. Allowing groups who raise their own money (ex: buying yearbook ads to exclusively fund yearbook and nobody else can touch the money) to keep their money.

I liked my senior year the best because I was involved in my community. I enjoyed ASB, which is just an excellent group of people. I enjoyed 99% of the teachers and staff, and I love that our leaders value student input. Anacortes High School needs to push involvement more, but it is still a fantastic and beautiful school.

Most of the teachers at AHS are very supportive and helpful during your high school career, as are the other staff and faculty members. They could definitely improve on giving mental health advice and providing a safe place for students to be and talk to someone if they need to.

Terrible. Do not work together with parents as a team.

Very poor. This school spends almost $17,000 per student, has high paid teachers which don't translate into better teachers. The only thing important is money. Your kids are better off in Mount Vernon or Oak Harbor or private. Beware!!

I really enjoy it here. The classes aren’t always the most exciting, but the teachers have really great personalities and usually try to make the learning activities fun. Most of the teachers are not burnt out on their jobs, which is also good.
