West has a great diverse group of people and supportive teachers. Different people creates many different groups though and it can be really cliquey on the social level.

West Anchorage high school is among the best high schools offered in the Anchorage school district. My only complaint is strict administration, but the teachers make up for it immensely. There are opportunities for every interest, and the AP and IB programs are great resources for any student looking for a higher education.

West High has a lot of really excellent teachers, who do their best to prepare students for life beyond High School. It offers many high level academic programs for students to succeed, and has top-notch and award winning music and drama programs that never cease to amaze. In my time in and around West there have been a number of safety concerns, but we have had no major incidents.
