Definitely not the best option. Classes you aren't made to attend. Never been at a school where skipping class was done in the HS office. Also so many wierd classes you wouldn't see anywhere else. They have a janitors class. Where students are janitors. Then a class that goes to the river and collects rocks. It is a odd place. Doors are left unlocked at all times by training rooms. Had a really bad bullying issue where a teacher was choked by a student. Student wasn't punished. Adminstation is very poor. Buses on a regular basis get kids to school after school starts. Counseling Is really good. Well not by the actual counselors not sure what they do? Watch TV and gossip. Not sure why they have a TV. haha But room 303 is great fir counseling. Drug class is great as well if you have drug problems they take you to there parks abd give you food to try to get you to stop. I WOULD RECOMMEND OTHER HIGH SCHOOLS

As a graduate student in this school I can confidently state that the teachers will do everything that they can to do prepare students for adulthood.

Poor school. Adminstation issues. Favortism on everything. Athletics are just politics. Some coaches aren't even coaches they are uncertified mechanics. security at the school Is awful doors are left unlocked and if the administration makes rules they only stick to them for a few weeks. Central administration is not helpful at all. I feel sorry for the teachers the administration doesn't support them unless they are related to board members

MCHS is a great school. As an alum, I am proud of how much progress has been made throughout the district. It is a great place to raise a family.

Mcdonald County High School focuses more on athletics more than academics. ROTC, SkillsUSA, FFA, FCCLA, and other organizations aren't recognized in the newspapers, social media, or school announcements as much as the athletes. Plus the principal needs to set aside his parent role and remind his kid...

I am a student currently attending MCHS and I would like to say that McDonald County has done an amazing job improving test score and now out ranks all the schools in south west Missouri. They are constantly adding new AP classes and developing new ways to make students more college ready. Not to me...

Staff is REALLY lazy! The drama teacher spends her time texting her aide. There's chew all over the ag building, auto cad etc. the teacher's see their own students doing it and don't mind. Every time I walk in the counselor's office they act like if I'm not there while they talk about the game last...
