GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experience at Athens Area High School was sufficient. I felt safe at school. I always felt supported by the teaching staff. I really enjoyed my cheerleading experience and the coaches at the school were amazing.

At Athens Area High School, my experience has been a positive experience. The teachers are very interactive with their students and make it enjoyable to learn at school. I'd like to see change within the dress code, and rules so it is more equal between females and males. I'd also like to see teachers and counselors more active with the students in regards to preventing bullying and help guide other students to make smart and healthy decisions.

Pretty average school. Nothing too special except for the diverse population of both town/country kids.

Focus on all students and college and career readiness. Intense focus on the whole student and their social/emotional/...

These schools are the worst in the state of PA. They do not care about the students unless they are from wealthy families. They push the lower income students out and do not take the time to help them. They rush to make judgments on the students instead of getting to know them and their families.

This school is focused on numbers and not the students. They push the students through instead of actually educating them. Their sole purpose is for sports, not education. If they spent more on the education factor and reducing the class sizes this might actually be a good school. Please don't get m...

My kids have gone thought the middle, junior, and senior high. The schools are great. Teachers and administration are attentive to student needs and abilities. Every kid can participate in sports or extracurricular activities. If there is any negative it is the school spirit is lacking in many stude...
