I've had an okay experience with Athens High School. Throughout my 4 years here, I can really just say I barely made it through. The administrators are more worried about drugs and dress code than kids learning. The teachers care more about your grades than you as a person. The food was nasty, but it's free. The sports teams are decent, but super fun.

There is not a lot of help or excitement for kids who want to go to a technical college. I am starting school 4 days after graduation and I hope to be graduated and working by the time school starts again in August. The world will always need lineman and I am going to go to one of the 3 top schools in the nation but there are not many scholarships for kids like me. I might not be the smartest in my class but I work hard and know what I want to do with my life. My schooling won't cost a fortune or take 5 years to finish but I hope to be making good money very soon.

The teachers care about the curriculum and push students to do their best. Many students do extracurricular activities and have a good base for after graduation because of coaches.

If I could give negative stars I would. This is the absolute worst school I have ever had to deal with. Poor education, run by incompetent administrators that ultimately harm the children’s education and well being. They are unable to look at the individual child’s needs to serve them best and reall...

This was my son’s first year at AHS. Overall, it was a good year. It is by no means a perfect place, but no school is and I’m not pulling him to homeschool or drive to Tyler for a better option. I believe that the administration is making great strides to make AHS a better and more effective place f...

AHS has been great for my kids. They have enjoyed the athletic program, and have had wonderful teachers as well!

My time at AHS was met with many obstacles for which I'm grateful, since they helped me grow into an independent, mature student who can navigate the educational system with ease. The extracurriculars are very well funded, and I take pride in seeing the accomplishments of the teams of which I was a...
