Booker T. Washington High School is a public institution serving students in grades 9 through 12. Founded in 1924, the school was the first public secondary school in Atlanta for African Americans. Attending Booker T Washington High School has had a profound impact on me by expanding my perspectives and challenging me to grow both academically and personally.Ive developed critical skills and discovered many new interest like joining dance . Although the school is in rough area in Atlanta , it is a challenge everyday not knowing what may happen.The guidance from teachers and counselors encourages me everyday to set higher goals for myself and to strive for excellence.I would love to see the change in the student behavior, we have a lot of students who doesn't see their potential and is blinded by community issues .

Over the last four years I have fallen in love with my high school and the community within it. I honestly would not wish to be at any other school in Atlanta.
