The Dekalb PATH Academy is a public charter school that serves 5th- through 8th-grade students. PATH is home to 368 students and boasts a 15-to-1 student-to-teacher ratio. The mission of the school is to provide a safe and nurturing learning environment for immigrant, refugee and local students. This innovative learning academy focuses on creating a demanding curriculum while also collaborating with parents to create an ideal learning environment. PATH has an impressive five-year run of achievement and awards. The school has sustained Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT) growth and, in some instances, outperformed other schools in Dekalb County and the state of Georgia. The CRCT tests students' skills in math, reading, language arts, science and social studies. Eighth graders at PATH have also outperformed other students, county and statewide, in the Grade 8 Writing Assessment which tests students’ expository and persuasive-writing skills. The school boasts excellent daily attendance numbers, is recognized as a Distinguished Title I School, ranks third among middle schools in Dekalb County, won the 2018 Georgia Charter School of the Year Award and won the 2020 School Choice Leadership Award. Dekalb PATH Academy has a girls soccer team and a boys soccer team. The school also offers a dog therapy and visiting program that has proven to be beneficial to the mental health of its students. PATH is known for its strong track record of sending its students to prestigious charter schools throughout Dekalb County. The school’s main focus for transitioning eighth grades is to put them in the high school situation that is best for them.

PATH ACADEMY is one of the best middle schools ever!My son had the greatest opportunity to belong to this wonderful school, now he is a sophomore and I still seeing the good bases he had.Thanks to every single person from PATH..M.C..

I think this school is one of best, even among some private schools in the entire state, I don't want to invent anything, just take a look on the academic results.this is my 6th year around the school, I've been involved and really know how things work around here and believe me this is the best sch...

2Nd review half way into the 2012-2013 school year. I am amazed of what a great school Dekalb Path Academy turned up to be! A few things I like are: 1-This is a very small school with just over 300 students between 5th to 8th grade, there for the teachers pay individual attention to each one of them...

Good student/teacher ratio, but more involvement with the community needed. Very strong on the math area and has multiple programs established with Georgia Tech
