Heards Ferry Elementary School is an Atlanta pre-K through Grade 5 public school. The school serves 780 students and has a student-teacher ratio of 13-1. Established in 1970, Heards Ferry is known for its parental involvement. In recent years, the school opened up its state-of-the-art and received several honors, including The Governor’s Office National School of Excellence Award in 2016, the Highest Performing School Gold Award in 2017, a Blue Ribbon School designation in 2018 and an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme World School designation in 2018.
The Eagle Alliance is a program at Heards Ferry of parents, teachers and other staff members. Its focus is on creating an excellent student environment, supporting academic achievement and offering support to the school’s community. The Eagle Fund was created to financially support school programs such as the science lab, art, music and staff development.
Heards Ferry also has a service and outreach program that teaches students how to give back to their community. The school hosts multiple school-wide drives throughout the year.
