Mary Lin Elementary School is a shining example of a community school. The public elementary school is situated within the Candler Park neighborhood, across from the Candler Park Golf Course and serves students in the Candler Park, Inman Park and Lake Claire neighborhoods. Built in 1927 to replace Edgewood Public School, Mary Lin Elementary is named after Principal Mary Lin, who served in her role for 27 years. The school honors her legacy and is one of the premier elementary schools in the Atlanta Public Schools Systems today. Students are provided with a learning environment meant to nurture them mentally and ensure their physical, emotional and social well-being. To aid with this, parents and community members support the Mary Lin Education Foundation, which allows funds to supplement the district budget, and provides teachers and administrators with access to first-rate resources and environmental upgrades. This helps to contribute to the creative, collaborative and respectful atmosphere that allows students at Mary Lin Elementary to thrive. This exceptional learning environment is supported year round, with the school offering a Summer Academic Recovery Academy to all students, focusing on literature, math and STEAM. Upon completion of fifth grade, students often advance to Inman Middle School and Grady High School, both respected local schools in the area.

I am familar with this schol since 2000 exceedingly fast due to and influx of families moving into a very desirable area within the the city and the historic neighborhoods of Candler Park and Lake Claire. Mary Lin is a strong school with talented and compassionate teachers and a solid administration.
