Since 1966, Spalding Drive Elementary School has been serving the children of Sandy Springs. Today, the school operates as a charter school for 350-400 preschool through 5th grade students. The charter status allows Spalding Drive to provide unique opportunities for learning, including a uniform dress code, required parental involvement and technology-based learning. Upper-grade levels get to choose from general music, chorus and guitar classes as part of their curriculum, and the school partners with Arts for Learning at Woodruff Arts Center to provide other cultural opportunities to students. Over 10 school-based activities give children outlets where they can develop personal interests and interact with others who have the same hobbies. Kids can sing in the school’s show choir or get creative in art and photography clubs. Drone and coding clubs let children pursue interests in the latest technology, and the book club encourages a love of reading. Spalding Drive also offers an afterschool enrichment program where kids can get help with homework, enjoy fun exercise programs and participate in hands-on learning sessions. The teachers and staff at Spalding Drive Elementary School are focused on building a stimulating environment for learning and helping their students succeed.

Excellent school with great teachers and staff. Small classroom sizes and everyone knows my kids by name. Really happy here. Hope they stay in the community for many generations.

Such a wonderful school. The staff are so welcoming and great. My kids have learn far more than I could have expected. The facilities are very nice too! They have a spacious cafeteria and a large play ground. The gymnasium is so nice the city of sandy springs uses it to host all of their city basket...

Spalding is a small neighborhood school that provides a welcoming environment for all students. They have excellent teachers that will help your child reach their full academic potential. My boys have been at SDE since PreK and Kindergarten, we have had an outstanding experience.
