A typical day at The New School is unlike most high schools. While their days consist of teaching and learning core subjects, students also engage in yoga, political discussions, business protocol and cooking classes. Ranked the second-best arts high school in Georgia, The New School offers a unique high school experience that has been well-received by both students and parents associated with the institution.
Home to just 84 students with a student-teacher ratio of 7-1. The New School's goal is to help students learn and improve through community-engaged learning while adhering to a "rigorous" college preparatory curriculum. One of the most important aspects of learning at TNS is its commitment to an entrepreneurial mindset. Educators at the institution strive to teach the importance of empathy while embracing problems as opportunities for growth and improvement. TNS’ Community Engaged Learning Partners come from various backgrounds and are involved in multiple professions such as investing, government, design, music, business, science and acting. All CEL Partners are experts in their respective fields, and their goal is to teach the students how to be experts as well.
The school also offers a variety of extracurricular activities, including social activism, The Organizer Academy, fashion design, sewing, caricature drawing, African drumming, dance, yoga and mindful meditation.
