Home of the Bobcats, Lakeland Elementary School creates an embracing and uplifting environment for its students. The school is one of two public elementary schools in the Lakeland South neighborhood of Federal Way. Lakeland Elementary serves students in prekindergarten through fifth grade. The brightly colored pink and teal school buildings were first constructed in 1952 and then rebuilt in 2011.
Throughout reconstruction, the school community has been going strong the entire time with the school offering activities that complement the academic curriculum. Events include Back-to-School BBQ, Curriculum Night, Young Author’s Night, Math Night, Coffee with Families, Volunteer Tea, honor choir, Maker Space, Spirit Wear Wednesdays and more. A pride point for the school is that they regularly achieve 100% participation in their Student-Led Conferences.
The school is in the western portion of the Lakeland South Neighborhood and feeds into Sequoyah Middle School. Students can expect to achieve academic goals while being surrounded by a supportive tight-knit community at Lakeland Elementary School.

This is a great elementary school with a fabulous staff. All the teacher (and the boy went from K-5th here) are wonderful, caring, and committed. I was very active in PTA, so spent a lot of time here and got to know them all well. Each one of the instructors and staff here care about the kids and go over and above for their students and the school in general.

My kids have had a great experience at Lakeland Elementary School. The teachers are fantastic, the after-school programs are excellent, and they have made a great group of friends since we moved here. I hear the school used to have a few issues, but it seems to have all been resolved now. A+!
