Most of the teachers are friendly and seem mostly competent. The student body is about what you would expect a small town to be; everyone has their clique and their group, and you either get accepted into one or you don't. All of the extracurriculars I'm involved in (FFA, Choir, Drama, NHS)are successful, and the advisors/sponsors are super supportive. The worst part is there is blatant favoritism based on what your last name is, regardless of talent or merit.

My son has been in Ava School District since preschool. There is a closeness in such a small school. The teachers and administration is great

Overall, it was a high school. There's not much more or much less to be said. It's hard to succeed in Ava high unless you have one of the right last names, but that's how it is in town, too, so I guess that is good life preparement. It's the best option in the area, but that doesn't make it good. Just bite the bullet and move to Springfield, there's nothing for anyone around Ava unless you're a farmer or a meth head.
