Washington Middle School is located within the College Heights neighborhood of Bakersfield, California. The school first opened its doors in 1891, but had sustained a lot of damage during the 1952 earthquake that affected the area. It reopened its doors at its current location in 1955, and has been serving the Bakersfield community ever since.
