To achieve better results, sometimes schools have to think outside the norm. Barat Academy is the only secondary school in St. Louis to offer single-gender classrooms on a co-ed campus. Girls and boys interact at morning announcements, lunch, and other activities, including service-learning projects and school dances. But classrooms are gender specific, to offer fewer distractions and increased participation. All courses at this private Catholic school are college preparatory, and curriculum includes an array of Advanced Placement courses.
For those who wish to expand their academic horizons even further, Barat offers independent coursework outside of the regular curriculum that can be taken in-person and online. Options include advanced classes in math, science, social studies, and language arts, as well as coursework in fine arts, physical education, theology, and foreign language.
Beyond academics, Barat offers enrichment through student service opportunities on campus and in the community. Students complete their senior year with a student-led Peace Project which allows them to execute their own social justice program.
Barat students also enjoy a diverse selection of extra-curricular activities. The athletic program allows students to participate in high-level competition, and the fine arts department offers opportunities to compete and perform at instrumental, vocal, and theater productions on campus, in the community, and on tour to out-of-state destinations.
Serving around 50 students in grades 6-12, Barat Academy’s unique educational environment has received an A rating from Niche.com. After graduating, 90 percent of Barat students go on to attend a four-year college.

If you want to see the nicest kids and the most thoughtful and loving teachers and administration you come to Barat. I only wish we had more kids because if they gave Barat a chance they will grow so much and be such better versions of themselves.

I am a student at Barat academy some of my favorite thing is to play field hockey and lean about different thing in history and in theology. Sadly you can't describe Barat in 100 characters but I would recommend you visit because this school has changed my life fro the better. I start at Barat my Sophomore year and I wish I had start my freshman year my first school was not a good fit but lucky I had Barat They welcomed my with opened arms and I was like I found a part that was missing. I went from a gpa of .75 to. 3.0 in two year. The teacher are very understanding if you need an extension they will give you one and help you with it. The friendship you make at Barat are lifetime friendships everyone is very supportive of one another. If you are thinking of school come check out Barat it super fun.

Horrible is the only review that I can say about this school. If you are a minority or someone that has a child with a learning disability, then this school is truly not for them. I am truly at a loss as to how this school is rated as anything but terrible. We were additionally stunned after our child transferred out and was so far behind academically.There is nothing good I can say about this place.
