GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experience going to Lamar County High School has been pretty good, sometimes I feel that teachers are too strict or the rules are too strict. The lunch could also be better but overall it's a good program.

The students are not very welcoming to new students, the staff is good though. The administration and counselors really care about the students and want to see them succeed.

I came to Lamar County high school in ninth grade and the high school years. There were the best times of my school years. I came from a private school so I feel like I had a better opportunity in public school. The teachers really cared about the students and to prepare them for college.

I missed my chance to take the SAT because the school failed to notify any of the students when the deadline to sign up for it was, or...
