GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Best parts: - the teachers really prepare us for college - the workload is just right for a challenge but not too much that I feel like I'm drowning - the teachers and society in our school push us to work hard - we have a lot of facilities and technological devices that are very expensive and they help us learn a lot of things we wouldn't have been able to without them Worst parts: - the society here is very harsh and grade oriented - there is a lot of pressure to do really well and have all A's and mental health is sometimes pushed to the side -

Barrington High School has a very competitive environment. There is little diversity, although it has been increasing with the upcoming grades. The coursework offered is very rigorous and there are different opportunities for students to take electives and classes as per their rigor.

My experience at Barrington High School has been very up and down. I've been in many racist situations. Finding teachers that actually believe in you and want to take the time with you is hard. Can be a toxic environment just with other students and staff

Pros:- Excellent academics. The best public school for academics in Rhode Island and probably top 3 even with private schools in the mix. We always send around 30-40 people per grade to top 25 ranked universities and liberal arts colleges. Almost everyone graduates and goes to college, and dropouts...

I agree, the bullying is ignored. Not suprisingly, the link to the state bullying policy on the school website doesn't work. I transferred my chiild out after completing almost 11 years in the Barrington school system; she could no longer tolerate the bullying and was unable to thrive in class. The...

We have two children in the school system. Our eldest daughter is a student at the high school, and so far we have been extremely happy with her experiences there. She works hard, enjoys school, has a great group of friends, and she likes to participate in many of the after-school activities they of...
