In the heart of Beachwood, Ohio, Beachwood Middle School serves about 300 students from grades six through eight with a student-to-teacher ratio of 11-to-1. Beachwood Middle School strives to make sure every child has the access and support they need to succeed. To that end, it provides free internet for all and offers laptops to every single seventh and eighth-grade student. In addition, both its Gifted and Talented and Special Education programs offer students support services with access to specially certified resource teachers.
Beachwood Middle School has a foreign language program that offers Hebrew, Chinese and Spanish language instruction. Electives include courses like woodworking, photography, keyboarding, video production, cooking, sewing, fine arts and technology. Teachers and staff dedicate time after school to serve as advisors for diverse extracurriculars including Peer Leadership, newspaper, yearbook, Math Counts Club, Writing Club, Power of the Pen, Science Olympiad, Study Club, Student Council, Model UN, Robotics, the Junior Solid Hold Show Choir and more.
Interested seventh and eighth graders can play sports including baseball, softball, tennis, basketball, soccer, track, wrestling, cross country and swimming. The school also has an eighth-grade boys’ football team.
