Belding High School
Belding Black Knights prepare for college and their careers at Belding High School. This Ionia County ninth through 12th grade learning center promotes lifelong success through core values, including loyalty, honesty, toughness, respect, kindness and trust. Belding High is proud to lead the way in educational and extracurricular achievement as one of the county's highest-rated high schools.
Named after the Belding Family, who purchased the surrounding land in 1871, the city of Belding is located on the winding Flat River. Students can enroll on campus or at the Belding High School Virtual Academy, which allows students to earn a high school diploma in a full or part-time online environment.
Students can also participate in athletics in the Silver Division of the Ottawa-Kent Conference in West Michigan. Athletic events include basketball, competitive cheer, soccer, football and bowling. High school clubs promote community leadership and fun, from gardening to the National Honor Society. Belding High School students regularly perform and compete in band, drama and choir events.
The student population, class size and average test scores of Belding High are competitive in the county. From ninth grade beginnings to high school graduation, Belding High is committed to being “The right size. The right choice.”

Belding high school staff are interested in doing whatever they can so the students can succeed. They have great art programs. Weather that is the band the drama or the art programs. My student has enjoyed being in all 3 programs. It is nice to see a school that still has great programs when a lot of schools are cutting these programs. Staff are always willing to help the students in whatever they might need help in. If the student are having issues the admin staff are more than helpful to get this taking care of quickly and effectively.

For the most part, everything is great and it's much better than most of our local schools, however, I do wish certain teachers paid attention to IEPs better.

I personally had a good experience at Belding High School. Though after leaving I learned that my education was lacking. I was behind my other peers going into college.

The current administration is such a breath of fresh air for our district! I have had kids in all the school and have never had a bad experience.
