Belding Black Knights prepare for college and their careers at Belding High School. This Ionia County ninth through 12th grade learning center promotes lifelong success through core values, including loyalty, honesty, toughness, respect, kindness and trust. Belding High is proud to lead the way in educational and extracurricular achievement as one of the county's highest-rated high schools. Named after the Belding Family, who purchased the surrounding land in 1871, the city of Belding is located on the winding Flat River. Students can enroll on campus or at the Belding High School Virtual Academy, which allows students to earn a high school diploma in a full or part-time online environment. Students can also participate in athletics in the Silver Division of the Ottawa-Kent Conference in West Michigan. Athletic events include basketball, competitive cheer, soccer, football and bowling. High school clubs promote community leadership and fun, from gardening to the National Honor Society. Belding High School students regularly perform and compete in band, drama and choir events. The student population, class size and average test scores of Belding High are competitive in the county. From ninth grade beginnings to high school graduation, Belding High is committed to being “The right size. The right choice.”

Belding has done well caring for their students and getting them what they need to achieve what they want. Especially in recent years Belding has done more to make applying for financial aid and future schools easier.

I liked the realistic classes that are good preparation for real life, like the Personal Finance and Government, but I the people who go to the school are close minded and have small town fever.

Belding High School is a place where you can really connect with the teachers and administration. The school always makes time available so students can receive academic help before or after school.

The current administration is such a breath of fresh air for our district! I have had kids in all the school and have never had a bad experience.
