Very competitive amongst students. It was a constant competition for who performed best and how to bolster one's college application. I wish the school would speak about other occupations, paths in life, or trade school to broaden student's mindsets.

Heavy emphasis on taking AP classes. It was not uncommon for students to have taken 10 APs over the 4 years of high school. Newport also has an excellent athletic program, and doesn't have a big bullying issue. For the most part its a safer environment for students who jist want to learn.

I believe that Newport Senior High School, even though it may be a difficult program, it provides proper support for the students to set them up for upcoming years of education or workforce.

As a parent of 3 very different children that have attended Newport High School over the past 7 years I certainly acknowledge the positive aspects of the School. If your child is a high achiever and fits the arbitrary mold of what the Principal considers acceptable, they wll be fine. However, if you...
