GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I loved the community at Meridian High School. We are very connected to our small town and seeing that every day is so enriching. I also love how much we, as students, are pushed to be our best.

Meridian High School is a relatively small country school out in Whatcom County, Washington. The teachers are personable, some of the best in the state. Most have graduated from Meridian themselves, or have grown up in Bellingham, Lynden, or Ferndale. I am a running start student, so I only have one class: AP Biology with Andrea Ames. She has taught me for almost 7 consecutive years, and is one of the reasons I am choosing to pursue a career in science.

If we had not moved into the Meridian district and put my children in a different district, our family would've missed out on sooo much! The teachers and support/Special Ed staff are amazing. We moved into this district and once we moved out of it, our kids didn't even want to discuss changing distr...

The school is overrun with cliques who make anyone that is at least slightly different feel unwelcome. The school is crawling with teenagers who don't know the meaning of respect and kindness. Nothing is private. Any matters OUTSIDE of school involving students, that is brought to staff attention wi...

The only good thing about this school is that you may participate in running start (taking college classes instead of high school classes at the college of your choosing WCC or BTC) your junior and senior year. If you play your cards right you would be able to graduate from high school and college a...
