Students do not receive the preparation that you would expect from a school at this price point. Public schools in New Jersey have more resources and variety. It is very small and socially young people struggle.

It is not that the academics are rigorous it is that they are outdated and mundane. Even the most organized and gifted classmates struggle with the lack of structure the school offers. Some teachers leave you in the dark on your grades until almost the end of the semester. My other two complaints are diversity is lacking and they do not have programs that my peers at the other Catholic schools have.

BE puts on a facade to prospective students. I noticed that the only day we have special items like gummy bears or certain other lunch room items are when there are student tour days. Any other day these treats are not available. The dress code policy is a joke. My classmates roll their skirts incredibly high and only some students get picked on by teachers to correct them. You can't have any holes in your tights but again some students get picked on by teachers and principals and others don't. I guess it depends if your parents are alumni or pay a lot of money to keep the school open. If you don't spend the nearly $200 for the BE fleece jacket you can't wear a jacket in class. Even if it's a north face fleece jacket that looks exactly the same. They don't care if you are cold. They have rules that have no benefit some teachers are nice but most make up rules and class work as they go.

A once proud school is on the verge of being overtaken in terms of quality of education and overall student opportunities by the neighboring Catholic High Schools. Is this a blip or a sign of a longer term declining trend?

Excellent, it is a demanding school and great education. If you are willing to spend a great amount of your time studying, this school is right for you.

Bishop Eustace did a great job preparing me for college, as well as my future career. While there are challenges that come along with any high school experience, I believe Eustace was as good of a prep school as you are going to find anywhere.

I have mixed feelings about this school. The students are almost all very well mannered. The campus is beautiful. The problems lie with the admistration. The school policies are ridiculous the claim to prepare students for a college environment yet give students no freedom. You can only go to your l...
