My experience at Mater Dei exceeded any idea of what my high school career would look like. At this high school, I was surrounded by faculty and students who practically became my family. Everyone was included in the school and the school spirit was unlike any other.

Mater Dei High School was a big deal in my family. My parents went there along with my aunts and uncles as well as my siblings. My children will go there too! I enjoyed it being a smaller school and never felt overwhelmed.

Mater Dei made sure that I would succeed in my high school career. Had some amazing teachers that impacted my life in a great way. The small student count did make everyone feel closer. One thing I would change would probably be the lunch menu. There are not enough vegetarian options for those students who do not eat meat. Mater Dei feels like a family and I am very glad that I choose to attend high school there.

I have two sons, one who graduated and one who is currently attending Mater Dei. My oldest had a very positive experience during his four years. The curriculum is challenging, and the students are very bright. If memory serves me, there were 14 valedictorians, with 12 of them being Illinois scholars...

The math and science departments are top-notch, even though not a lot of AP credit is offered. The truth is that AP credit often does not transfer, but a sound education will allow your child to advance quickly thorough university programs.
