Located on the corner of Poplar Street and Maplewood Ave in the heart of Bridgeport's West End, the Bryant School stands as a beacon of early education for children in prekindergarten through sixth grade. This Bridgeport public school was originally founded in 1912 and was named after William Cullen Bryant, a great American poet who held the arts in very high regard. It is this same passion for the arts that fuels Bryant Elementary’s vision for its students.
The school desires to develop culturally responsive students through an integrated learning environment infused with art and creativity. The school’s talented and dedicated staff of administrators and educators seeks to foster a desire for learning in their students that extends beyond the walls of the Bryant School. Uniforms are required at the school, in keeping with Bryant Elementary’s 100-plus years of tradition.
While ranked below average in comparison to all the elementary schools in Connecticut, it remains among the top elementary schools in Bridgeport. Bryant Elementary School respects the social, cultural and learning differences of every child, and encourages students to become inquisitive and creative learners at school and in their community.

This is the WORST SCHOOL I have ever sent my son to . I get nothing but complaints all day EVERYDAY about someone bothering / touching my kid . My kids attended this school, all 3 of them have had the same kindergarten teacher. All the staff members are great, including the principal. They keep an open communication with the parents and check in all the time so we know exactly how are kids are doing.
