GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The best parts of my experience were the many clubs and activities available for a wide variety of interests. The worst part was the relative lack of diversity and the high cost of many activities. I would like to see more crackdown on students for using slurs and reduced cost for trips and activities.

My experience at Columbia Central High School was great in my opinion. They have a great selection of teachers from young twenties that understand the students better to older teachers that know how to teach their subjects in super easy way for the students to understand. I like how the school has handled the covid-19 pandemic so kids are safe and sanitary. I would like to see the amount of students and classes able to take increase within the school. I feel as if they have more of a basic core type classes to take with few special electives.

I liked Columbia a lot. Clean, safe atmosphere to learn. I loved the teachers and the sports were well kept with. I loved the opportunity to learn at the local college while still in hight school as well. I took advantage of that but it could have been offered sooner or at a greater capacity in order for it to benefit all students.

Disappointing education that did not prepare me for college. 90% of teachers only seem to be there for the paycheck and hate being challenged. Academics take a back seat to athletics. Close-minded school district.

My aunts and uncles went here. My mom. My brother and I. I read these reviews now, about athletics taking precedent, the good 'ol boy network, and then I read mlive about the retire-rehire scandals, the money that went missing after the last passed millage... and I want to cry. It has been 40 years...
