The School of Creativity and Innovation, or P.S. 896, is a tight-knit elementary school in Sunset Park serving young learners in pre-kindergarten through fourth grade. This school offers students dual language programs in Spanish and English as well as Chinese and English. Students also enjoy an arts curriculum including dance, music and visual arts. Many of these activities are in partnership with Sunset Spark, Bilingual Birdies, and Third Street Music School Settlement. Students at The School of Creativity and Innovation partake in many schoolwide activities such as Earth Day and Lunar New Year celebrations, spirit days, a winter concert and much so more. Students, teachers and administration all adhere to the school’s core values of intellectual curiosity, collaboration, integrity and joy. P.S. 896 is located on 48th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues and is easily accessed by several bus lines along both avenues, as well as the 53rd Street R line and the Fort Hamilton Parkway D line.
