The Roberto Clemente School, named to honor the late baseball player Roberto Clemente, is an elementary school for pre-kindergarten through fifth grade in Alphabet City. Located on East 4th Street between Avenues C and D, this school offers small class sizes and a Gifted and Talented program. Students benefit from a balanced approach to learning, with teachers getting to know students on their own level and individualizing instruction. A robust curriculum features math, English language arts, science, physical education, social studies, and STEAM. All grades participate in a comprehensive arts program that includes dance, theater arts, visual arts, and music. The school partners with several arts programs including Mark DeGarmo Dance, Arts for All, and Third Street Music Settlement, but also boasts an in-house STEAM program. This school also offers strong English as a Second Language programming from a full-time teacher. In summary, my daughter's experience at this school was a nightmare. Despite the respectful behavior of her G&T teacher, she felt lethargic due to the disruptive classroom environment, including name-calling, furniture throwing, and fights in the lunchroom. She didn't feel safe in the classroom, and...

Excellent place, love the tech program also love the music, and they are now a Recognition School which means one of the best I’m New York State. Note the scores in great schools are outdated

This was the worst experience I had with a school for my children, and I work with the DOE and it made me lose a lot of faith in how they overall protect our children in NYC@
