I feel as if some of the teachers are not well trained in how to handle certain situations at the school. I was also unaware that some of the teachers did not hold an actual teaching degree, my students teacher did not have a teaching degree and I feel this is a reason why she highly mishandled a situation. I was very excited for my child to attend Jefferson Academy but I feel some teachers need some better training and I wish that the principal was more available and not only the assistant principal.

Jefferson Academy's subjects were good classes (besides weight training) and the students and staff there were friendly. What could change would be some of the rules and the way homework is graded and reviewed.

Jefferson Academy provided me with a good education and college credits, but their counseling department and some of their "senior" teachers proved to be way below satisfactory. I often found myself frustrated but unable to receive help with these problems. The school considers their staff to be family, even more than the students it seems.

The administration is very poor, offering only a few electives for students. There is a significant amount of nepotism and a lack of interest in children's development. Homework interferes with daily life, so much that you can't enjoy time with your kids on the weekdays.
