Walking distance from the lovely tree-lined West Main Street in the Verrado community, Verrado Elementary inspires children in prekindergarten through sixth grade.
Home of the Verrado SuperSTARS, the school strives to model safety, kindness and acceptance for all its students and the broader community in the West Valley. The faculty here encourage students to become problem-solvers and critical thinkers.
For core subjects, teachers follow the McGraw Hill Wonders English and Language Arts Curriculum and i-Ready Classroom Mathematics, and the approach pays off. Students consistently earn test scores in reading and math well above the district and state averages, helping Verrado to rank as one of the top elementary schools in Arizona.
In addition to a curriculum complemented by arts and physical education, the school also offers gifted and honors education as well as special education services so every child can learn at their own pace. Outside of the regular school day, Verrado SuperSTARS can push their logic skills in chess, be active in youth cheerleading or nourish their creative minds in Young Rembrandts, among other activities.
Throughout the year, the students can have fun being kids in school dances, fundraisers and holiday events.
