Buckingham Browne and Nichols School is a private, coeducational day school in Cambridge that serves students in prekindergarten through 12th grade. The entire school occupies three distinct campuses—the Lower School is located on Buckingham Street, the Middle School is a quarter of a mile away on Sparks Street and the Upper School’s impressive campus is just off Gerrys Landing Road near the Charles River. Current enrollment is just over a thousand students, and the school’s amenities include well-groomed athletic fields, four libraries, a skating rink and a state-of-the-art athletic center at the Upper School. The application process is rigorous and competitive, and tuition is considerable. Financial aid is available and utilized by about 20% of the student body.

I think that the academics and designed curriculum at BB&N is challenging and appropriate. They also have a great range of clubs and alliances to participate in. However, I've found that some of the teachers throughout the years have seemed unprepared for the classes they've taught. Additionally, the work ethic of some students in classes feels less motivating when combined with students who want to work hard.

Great school in so many ways. Students are engaged and prepared for the challenges that will come after they leave the school. The relationships between students and teachers is what sets BB&N apart from other schools in the area.

I am currently a student at Buckingham, Browne, and Nichols school and it has been one of the best experiences so far. The people are encouraging and the academics are rigorous and highly beneficial. This is one of the best schools I have ever heard of and would not prefer anything else.
