GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Cameron High School has a great number of staff who care about each student and want for each person to succeed. All of the teachers are willing to help students who have questions about classes or college information. I would love to see the students be more accepting at my school and more kind to those around them.

Overall, my experience going to school here has been pretty good. I feel safe and comfortable being at school. However, I wish that there was more opportunity to take courses for college and life readiness.

I moved to Cameron at the end of the first trimester my sophomore year. In my prior school I did not feel like I was excelling much in my education and I felt held back from my potential. Moving to Cameron was a big change, but it was the best one I ever made. Not only did I make a lot of new friends and get involved in new sports and clubs that I did not have access to before, I was also being challenged for the first time. It was hard for me academically for awhile because I was not used to getting pushed that much, but I eventually got the hang of it. Even though Cameron is a small school I believe that it excels beyond what people expect it to.
