Represented by a knight bedecked in navy blue and white, Joseph Knox Elementary School takes its name from the first schoolteacher in Cherokee County all the way back in 1834. The school’s campus seeks to honor his legacy almost two centuries later, cultivating the courtesy and manners befitting both a Georgia citizen and their knightly mascot. The educators and administrators at Knox Elementary believe that it’s never too early to start encouraging excellence. Even as an elementary school, Knox received STEM Academy status in 2018 and thoughtfully integrates science, technology, engineering and math concepts in the instruction of core subjects. Their mission statement is to grow curiosity, critical thinking and applicable problem-solving skills through an advanced curriculum and STEM-based education methods. At Joseph Knox Elementary, students are taught to see challenges as opportunities, and the means by which they can reach their full potential.

This School is TOP TIER. The staff and teachers go above and beyond when it come to our children. When my eldest son was in 1st grade he left his coat at school one Friday afternoon.
